SCARLET LEAVES PURSUE WILD WAVES
A wandering samurai of the once-famed-turned-dishonored Kaedehara Clan, Kazuha is a temporary crewmember of The Crux.
But before all of that, Kazuha was the end of the long line of noble Kaedehara heirs, the last son to a once-prestigious samurai clan that had dwindled in viability and fortune after their name had been wrongfully sullied for generations. From the game text: 'As the young master of the house, Kazuha could do nothing but watch as his family's future crumbled around him. But as helpless as this made him feel, when the moment came that the home was officially repossessed and the last attendant was finally dismissed, he breathed a sigh of relief: As far as he was concerned, this was a golden opportunity to begin leading a free and wandering life. He had always longed to roam the mountains and forests, and had held a deep admiration for the beauty and authenticity of nature since his youth. To Kazuha, nature had never been silent. It had always spoken to him, conveying its feelings in its own unique language.'
Kazuha's primary concerns were to roam and discover amidst the wilds in the way his father had inspired him to do, maintain the warrior's way that he had long-since been practicing, and find a suitable place to sleep each night. This became his simple but profound and pleasant life — until the leader of his home nation suddenly ruled Visions as outlawed, and mobilized an organization to find and confiscate all Visions in Inazuma. after being declared a criminal by the leader and deity of his homeland for taking a Vision from her grasp, while traveling and evading the Vision Hunters, Kazuha eventually landed himself an escape route, and one 'Masterless Vision.' [ details omitted to avoid spoilers. ]
Overall, Kazuha is softly-spoken — and sometimes rarely-spoken, until he may produce a poetic (if not seemingly cryptic) musing on the present topic, or...possibly impending weather. Without fail, his oddities prove often to have been skillful intuitions based on the state of nature around him; to this point, Kazuha is also noted to have an incredibly keen sense of smell, and a nuanced sense of hearing. Ultimately, he is an earnest and gentle person, seemingly incapable of wielding a sword with intent against an opponent...but when presented with the necessity to, he can show masterful skill of both swordsmanship, as well as Anemo elemental ability. Insightful and humble, Kazuha feels deeply for individual freedom and the protection of one's aspirations, showing that his clear personal values of being a nomadic samurai are a world view that he believes in for all. Further proving his credit to his skill, he's an honorable swordsman that acknowledges and respects the ability of others, even opponents, exhibiting tactful and humble qualities in him.
Kazuha now spends his time roaming the lands (and primarily seas) where he is still free, carrying a Masterless Vision in the hopes to reawaken it under the acknowledgement of one of the remaining Archons of Teyvat, through a newfound ambition in someone that may just be on the cusp of discovery.
'It's hard to say if weathering life's storms has eroded any sharp edges he once had or his reserved nature keeps them hidden from view. ... Kazuha, who has traversed around the lands, has avoided countless torrents of storms and flashes of lightning. This time, however, what awaits him will be an unprecedented thunderstorm. This time, he will no longer seek refuge. He, the rain, and the lightning will meet at the intersection of fate, as destiny marks it.
